"Life of an Engineer is full of tragedies that can never be understood by a normal mortal"
This review is part of review program conducted by MySmartPrice.com.
Dipen Ambala, an Electrical Engineer from VJTI, has worked in IT industry for 8 long years, who now is a full time writer. With his two previous releases "In their Shoes.." and "LOSER" which is a national best seller, He has gained his position among the league of new generation Indian authors.
"To B.E or not to B.E" is another satire from the author which targets the life of an engineering student. From the discovery of the Mother of Engineering to the “Every Engineer is a Dog” theory and from the love story behind the invention of the word “Hostel” to the criminal nexus behind college assignments, this book is really a nostalgic roller coaster ride. The author has very smartly written this book in a way that makes it appealing to the engineers who are and for the students who will someday (hopefully!!!) become one.
For readers who have completed the journey across the vast and deadly ocean of engineering, it serves as a beautiful reminder of the kids once they were. How they innocently assumed, life would be set right after 4 years of torture and how whole world was limited to completing assignments and getting updates on whose dating who.
On the other hand, for the readers who used to envy the life of an engineering student, this is an appropriate insight of what actually happens (which usually ends up "Nothing new") in this most attractive and infatuated profession of the day. And especially because of writer's brilliant narration of each and every topic along with a story that shows the beginning of the issue in first place is quite interesting as well as funny at the same time.
I will give three and a half stars out of five to the book and will recommend to the readers who like witty funny yet intelligent stuff to read. The book is surely a good guide for the kids who are planning to enter into the ocean of engineering academic.
